MLB News: Pirates possess strong Minor League top 10

Pittsburgh Pirates have one of the strongest farm systems in baseball. Several of their prospects are ranked within the top 100 in all of baseball, including the Baseball America webpage's top 10 prospects.

Endy Rodriguez is a highly regarded catching prospect. He has incredible athletic ability behind the backstop. His best position is catcher, but he can play other positions like first base and in the outfield.

Termarr Johnson was the top pick in Pittsburgh's 2022 draft. He played one season of Minor League baseball. Johnson has incredible bat skills and defensive skills.

Henry Davis is the top pick in the 2021 draft. He was promoted to Double-A this year and is showing why he was drafted so highly. Davis struggled with an injury this summer, but still managed 56 hits and batted .264.

Luis Ortiz started four games in the Major League this year. He has a good fastball, slider and changeup. Ortiz signed with the Pirates in 2018.

Quinn Priester had a dominant showing in his Triple-A debut with a six-inning shutout. Pryter was selected to the 2021 futures game and was assigned to Arizona Fall League.

Pittsburgh drafted Bubba Chandler in the third round of the 2021 draft. Chandler is a pitcher and a short stop. Pittsburgh is looking to bring him on slow and develop him at both positions.

Liover Peguero was acquired in the Starling Marte trade. He is a shortstop prospect with good bat-to-ball skills.

Nick Gonzalez is a college baseball player at New Mexico State. He has been playing in the minor leagues recently. Pittsburgh is interested in signing him. He is also a good defender.

Michael Burrows was drafted in 2018. He played in Altoona and Indianapolis this year. Experts project him to be promoted to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2023.

Thomas Harrington was drafted by the Pirates with the 36th pick in 2022. He has not played any minor league ball yet. The Pirates have a good Minor League group with many players eyeing promotion in 2023.
