Pittsburgh Pirates: Catcher Could Quickly Become a Strength

Pittsburgh Pirates re-signed Tyler Heineman to a minor league contract this week. It's not clear who will start at catcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates on Opening Day. Endy Rodriguez is the only catcher currently on the 40-man roster. Rodriguez will probably start the 2023 season in the minors. Henry Davis was the no. 1 overall pick in 2021 MLB Draft. Both Rodriguez and Davis are highly touted catching prospects. They are also above league average hitters. They could be playing together in Pittsburgh by mid-to-late June at the latest. If so, it would put them on verge of the majors.
