Pittsburgh Pirates: Blake Sabol Should Get a Look in the Majors

Pittsburgh Pirates need to give catching prospect Blake Sabol an opportunity behind the dish. The Pirates have been spoiled with their catching situation for the better part of a decade. Roberto Pérez was injured and the team bought Mike Perez from Triple-A Indianapolis and paired him with veteran Andrew Knapp.

Pittsburgh Pirates need to promote Blake Sabol from the minors to the majors. The team has a poor catching situation at the major league level. Their best catching prospect at Triple-A is Carter Bins. Henry Davis is injured and is not a realistic prospect. He is currently on the disabled list. They have two other catching prospects in Taylor Davis and Jamie Ritchie. It is unlikely that they will promote Sabo from Triple A. they need a new catching player. For the time being, they are going to keep using Mike Perez and Andrew Knapp. There is no prospect to replace him.
