MLB News: Puerto Rico vs Dominican Republic: Edwin Diaz's tragic freak injury, final score, stats and highlights

Before the start of the World Baseball Classic, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic appeared as two of the top contenders to take the title on March 21st in Miami, Florida, and now the loser of tonight's game will be eliminated from contention, after Venezuela surprisingly took over Pool D.

These two countries have baseball as their national sport and have star studded rosters filled with MLB's top talent, including names like Javi Baez, Francisco Lindor, Manny Machado, Juan Soto and many more, with Puerto Rico being commanded by former player and recently retired legendary catcher, Yadier Molina, while Dominican Republic is managed by Rodney Linares.

loanDepot Park will see the umpire sing play-ball at a few minutes after 7 p.m. EST, with Dominican Republic being the odds on favorite to take the victory, with Puerto Rico designating Fernando Cruz as their starting pitcher after much hesitation by manager Yadier Molina.

While the Dominican Republic is sending Johnny Cueto to the mound as their starting pitcher against a really dangerous Puerto Rico side.

The atmosphere in the stands promises to be unbelievable as these two teams have a lot of countrymen and women that reside in the South Florida area, while also being known for their huge smiles and often great rythm and passion for the game.

You can watch the game on FS1. Aside from Fox Sports 1, you can also live stream the game on FoxSports.com, Fox Sports app, fuboTV or YouTube TV.

The broadcast will begin at 7:00 pm ET.
