MLB parlay picks Sept. 29: Bet on Rangers, Cubs

A full slate of MLB baseball presents plenty of parlay possibilities.

The pregame narrative: The Milwaukee Brewers have clinched first in the division and we're betting the Chicago Cubs, who are fighting for a postseason spot, to win Friday's game. The Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners played a close, back-and-forth contest on Thursday and we're expecting another one. Thirdly, two strong pitchers are battling between the Houston Astros and Arizona Diamondbacks and we're taking the under.

MLB parlay picks

Parlay: Cubs moneyline + Rangers +1.5 + Astros vs. Diamondbacks under 11.5 runs (+264)

Cubs moneyline (-115): Chicago enters this one on a three-game losing streak but we're willing to cut the Cubs some slack considering all those losses were to the Atlanta Braves.

This is a big weekend for the Cubs as they currently sit a half-game back of the Miami Marlins for the final NL wild-card spot and don't have the tiebreaker in their back pocket. They'll receive a boost on Friday with Kyle Hendricks on the mound.

Hendricks pairs a 3.66 ERA with a 3.79 FIP and has been even better as of late. He has a 2.90 ERA and 3.08 FIP over his last seven starts.

Chicago's bats will battle Colin Rea and his numbers are very underwhelming. He has a 4.74 ERA and 5.07 FIP this year and owns a 19th-percentile hard-hit percentile, according to Baseball Savant.

Other parlay picks

Rangers +1.5 (-235): Seattle rallied for a ninth-inning, 3-2 win over Texas on Thursday and we're betting on the Rangers to keep this one close at a minimum once again.

The main reason for our optimism is Nathan Eovaldi getting the ball. The veteran hurler is closing up a fantastic campaign. He has a 3.26 ERA and a 3.72 FIP and Texas has covered this number in 16 of his 24 starts.

The Mariners are rolling with Bryan Woo and he's having a very up-and-down rookie season. His 4.39 ERA and 4.38 FIP are middling numbers and Seattle has only covered this number in seven of his 17 outings.

Astros vs. Diamondbacks under 11.5 runs (-278): Chase Field is an advantageous venue for offence per MLB Park Factors, but Friday's pitching duel should make this a low-scoring affair.

J.P. France gets the ball for Houston and he's having a decent season. He owns a 3.83 ERA and the under has hit in 14 of his 24 outings this season.

Arizona sends Zac Gallen to the bump and he brings a 3.49 ERA and 3.32 FIP into Friday's contest. The under on this total has cashed in 24 of his 34 appearances in 2023.
