MLB playoffs: Best bets for postseason gambling

The 2022 Major League Baseball playoffs are upon us. SportsLine has had profitable bets on the last two postseasons. Game picks will continue to be for Sportsline subscribers. The betting is on totals (over/unders) and player props.

Rays play Guardians in the playoffs. The over/under is 6.0. Shane McClanahan was injured in August and didn't pitch well after that. Guardians won 22 of their last 27 games and averaged 5.2 runs per game. Rays saw Shane Bieber in Cleveland on Sept. 27 and scored four runs in six innings in an eventual 6-5 win. Randy Arozarena is a possible player for the Rays.

Rhys Hoskins is a good bet for the Phillies. He's coming off a season in which he hit 33 doubles, two triples and 30 homers. Hoskin hit .360/.414/.800 against the Cardinals this year.

Julio Rodríguez has been a run-scoring machine since he moved to the leadoff spot. He was injured late in the season, but he was 5 for 11 at the plate for a .455 on-base percentage and scored in all three games.

Yu Darvish has had fewer than 5.5 strikeouts in his last 20 starts of the 2022 season. Darrish saw the Mets twice in the regular season and went over both times. The Mets ended up with the fewest strikeouts among NL teams this season, but they struck out at least eight times in their last eight games.
