MLB The Show 23: Release Date Prediction

With the New Year well underway, the winter is gradually starting to fade and make room for the warm-weather season of the Spring. Along with many delightful new beginnings during this time of the year, comes the arrival of a new MLB season, and with that, the newest iteration of MLB The Show.

The 2022 MLB Postseason concluded on November 5th, 2022, so baseball hasn’t been in the air for quite some time, and fans have been growing eager to see what MLB The Show 23 will have to offer in the new year.

At the time of this writing, The Show has not revealed much, including their cover athlete for the new game. Though we do not have a definitive date yet for when the latest edition of The Show will arrive, we do have an expert prediction that could shed some light on when we could expect it to.

So with that flip-of-the-bat, here’s our very own prediction for when we think MLB The Show 23’s much anticipated release will take place.

Despite MLB The Show 23 having yet to reveal an official release date for its new game, you can expect them to within the coming weeks as baseball season starts to creep up.

Since we don’t have any dates or times just yet, we at VideoGamer felt it was only fitting to provide fans with an educated prediction on when we think the new game will launch this year while we wait for the actual announcement. Here’s our MLB The Show 23 release date prediction:

Release Date Prediction: March 28th, 2023

Seeing that the 2023 MLB Season will commence on March 30th, it wouldn’t come to a surprise if The Show opted to release its new game two days prior, which they did last year as well.

It’s unlikely that The Show 23 will release on the Friday after Opening Day (March 31st) as they will likely want to launch their new game before the start of the season. Another release date possibility for The Show 23, could be the Friday before the season starts, which is March 24th. This was actually the case for MLB The Show 21, and is typically how sports games will operate with new game releases.

MLB The Show 22: Release Date

To garner a better idea for MLB The Show 23’s release date, it doesn’t hurt to review when previous editions of the franchise launched, especially the most recent one.

Though sports video game franchises will usually select different dates for when to release their new game from year-to-year, there is typically some consistency around the given time frame for when they target.

MLB The Show 22 was released on April 5th, 2022. Since the 2022 MLB Season started on April 7th, it made sense for why The Show selected early April a year ago, and don’t be surprised if they did something similar for The Show 23.
