Google Trends has released its search statistics for 2022. Three MLB teams are among the top 10 sports teams that were searched on Google by users in the United States last year.

Cleveland Indians changed their name to the Cleveland Guardians after 106 years. The team was the ninth most searched team overall and the third most searches for MLB teams.
The San Diego Padres made it to the NLCS in 2022. It was their first full-season playoff appearance since 2006.
The Philadelphia Phillies were searched for more than any other team in 2022. The team won the World Series. It was their first postseason appearance in 11 years.
