Moira wins Woodbine Oaks, loses two shoes beforehand

Moira won the Woodbine Oaks at Wood bine. She was sent off as the even-money favourite. Before the race, she lost two of her shoes. The trainer Kevin Attard ran her without them. Moira is one of the favourites for the Queen's Plate. She won her debut last fall and finished second in the Mazarine Stakes. Rondure won Marine Stake. He is also a favourite for Queen’s Plate, along with Rondeure.

Sir for Sure won the $150,000 Plate Trial Stakes at Woodbine. Hall of Dreams was second. Jockey Patrick Husbands on Hall for Dreams claimed foul, but it was disallowed. It was the first local stakes win for Declan Carroll, who joined Wood bine's jockey colony this summer.  It was also the second win in five starts for the three-year-old son of Sligo Bay.

Hernandez has won his second stakes race of the day. Wakanaka won the Dance Smartly Stakes. Hernandez sat fourth early in the race. It was the seventh win in 13 career starts for Wakenaka.

Hazelbrook gave jockey Jason Hoyte his first stakes win in the $150,000 Hendrie Stakes. It was the fourth win for the Lorne Richards-trained four-year-old filly.

Moira won Woodbine Oaks. Slade Callaghan was honored with the Avelino Gomez Memorial Award. Callagan has won 850 races in his 28-year career.

Kazushi Kimura did not ride on Sunday after a spill during the seventh race on Saturday. He is listed as day-to-day.
