Kevin Attard confident Moira will come up big in Breeders Cup

Moira is a filly trained by Kevin Attard at Woodbine. She finished second in the E.P. Taylor Stakes on Oct. 8 but was disqualified for interference and bumped down to eighth. Attards has pre-entered Moira in a $2 million Maker’s Mark Breeders Cup Filly & Mare Turf race at Keeneland on Nov. 5.

Ironstone won the Grade 3 Ontario Derby for three-year-olds on Sunday at Woodbine. The grey colt was a $7,000 purchase in 2020 and has now made well over $400,00. Ironstone was ridden by Kazushi Kimura.

Souper Hoity Toity won the Ontario Damsel Stakes on Sunday. It was her third victory in four starts this year and her second stakes score. She was purchased by Live Oak Plantation for $550,000 as a two-year-old at the 2021 Ocala Breeders Sales.

Gail Tiller, wife of trainer Robert Tiser, died last week at Toronto General Hospital. She had been battling cancer. Seven-year-old gelding Epilogue became the first horse to post five wins at Woodbine this year.
