  • 2.35: Coconut Splash 4/1 (1pt)
  • 3.40: Rickety Bridge 6/4 (1pt)
  • 3.52: Mr Freedom 7/2 (1pt)

Coconut Splash has been unfortunate not to get a well deserved win over fences yet, he's had 15 attempts chasing but has only managed to finish in the top three 11 times.

But he's been so close up against some top rivals and just hasn't been able to get up there.

Though there's a couple of things that could go his way this time out, and that's the jockey booking Harry Cobden, who's making his first appearance on the horse which does look encouraging for a bit of a change to circumstances - the jokey comes into this in red hot form with a 29% strike rate over the last two weeks.

The nine-year-old gelding is also right down in the weights again, going down from 137 back in February 2021 all the way down to today off 118.

Long Draw was third to a Paul Nicholls-trained winner on debut and comes up against another Nicholls horse here, who's also close in the odds - Rickety Bridge.

Both are coming in, in the odds this morning going from close to 2's to around 6/4 at the time of writing.

Rickety Bridge is yet to be seen over hurdles but did race in a listed bumper at Cheltenham in November, before placing a disappointing fifth in January.

He wasn't exactly tipped for the listed race, as he was a 25/1 outsider so if anything did almost outrun his odds that day, so it will be interesting to see his ability over hurdles now.

He did win well for, and under, Will Biddick in a point to point in March 2023 and could be much better over hurdles than he was on the flat, but did show promise in that discipline too.

Has often faced tough competition in and around this level including in Class 2 handicaps.

He was close up behind Inca De Lafayette last time out at Taunton when carrying top-weight on soft ground but does seem to suit all ground types.

He seems to come up against some weaker rivals here who aren't that consistent aside from maybe Saligo Bay who has consistently been in the top three in the majority of his races.
