Napoli vs. Roma Odds, Predictions & Betting Tips

Stadio Diego Armando Maradona plays host to Napoli against Roma in a Serie A clash on Sunday evening. Here at BettingOdds.com we’ve previewed the action and provided you with our best bets.

It’s been 33 years since Napoli last lifted their league title but at the halfway point in Serie A, Luciana Spalletti’s side find themselves 12 points clear at the top of the table with a remarkable 50 points. That total is a club record for this stage of a campaign and they now become only one of six sides in Serie A history to have collected 50 points at this stage.

Napoli’s closest challengers in the table are AC Milan in second, but with a 12 point gap and an average of 2.63 points per game so far in 2022/2023, the title very much feels like theirs to lose.

Roma have also been in good form in recent weeks and arrive in Naples on a six-game unbeaten run in the league since 9 November. Roma will look to keep things tight here in typical Jose Mourinho fashion and they possess the lowest non-penalty xG faced per game figure (0.68) of any side in Europe’s top-five leagues this season.

The visitors are just a point behind second in the league table despite currently sitting in fifth, but Mourinho’s men are not fancied by the bookmakers to take the three points here, priced as big as 17/4 to do so. The draw is on offer at 13/5, while a win for Napoli which would see them maintain their unbeaten record in front of their own fans this season can be backed at 8/11.

Napoli vs Roma Tips

Kim Min-Jae Over 0.5 Fouls

The home side do look a little short in the match result betting here and instead we think we’ve found a nice bit of value from the player fouls market, which continues to grow in popularity.

The player in question here is South Korean centre-half Kim Min-Jae who plays his club football for league leaders Napoli. The 26-year-old has been booked four times in Serie A this season as well as in the Champions League, and when it comes to fouls, he has committed eight in his last seven league appearances.

The South Korean will also have to contend with Pablo Dybala and Tammy Abraham with the former being one of the most fouled players in the league this term, drawing an average of 2 per game. All things considered 5/6 for Min-Jae to commit Over 0.5 fouls looks like a solid proposition.

Osimhen Over 1.5 Shots on Target & Abraham Over 0.5 Shots on Target

Victor Osimhen is a player bang in form this season and the Nigerian to record Over 1.5 Shots on Target is the first selection of our double on Sunday. In total, Osimhen has scored 13 league goals in just 15 appearances this season and is just one away from matching his tally of 14 from the entirety of last season.

Taking a look at his shots on target data and the 24-year-old has cleared this line in all of his last four appearances in all competitions and looking back a little further, it has landed in eight of his last 12.

Tammy Abraham should lead the line for Roma here and the former Chelsea man to have Over 0.5 Shots on Target is our pick. Available at 11/10 as a single with either BetUK, this looks another generous price considering he is averaging 0.9 shots on target per game in Serie A this term.

The Roma number nine, has five league goals this season and will need to improve his numbers in the second half of the campaign to match his tally of 17 from last season. However, Abraham has recorded a shot on target in five of his last seven and pairing him to do so again along with Over 1.5 for Osimhen pays just under 5/1 at 24/5 with BetUK.
