NASCAR Championship 4 Preview, Stats, Predictions, Odds for Phoenix
Ross Chastain, Chase Elliott, Joey Logano and Christopher Bell will compete for the title in Sunday's Championship 4 at Phoenix Raceway. The race will air live on NBC and Peacock at 3 p.m. ET. Pre-race coverage begins at 1:30 p.,m., ET on Peach and NBC.
Ross Chastain, Chase Elliott, Joey Logano and Christopher Bell qualified for the Championship 4. There will be 36 drivers competing in the race at Phoenix. The winner will crowned the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series champion.
Joey Logano, Christopher Bell, Ross Chastain and Chase Elliott qualified for the Championship 4 based on their point totals. Logana will be making his fifth Championship Four appearance. Chastsain qualified on his first career attempt at Martinsville. Elliott secured his third straight Championship four berth.
The four drivers in the top-10 are among the best all season.
Phoenix has hosted the Championship 4 race since 2020. Logano won the 2018 championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Elliott won at Phoenix in 2020 to claim his first and only title. Bell has marginal results at the track with two top-10s and no laps led. Chastain has had the least success at this track, with just one top 10 in eight starts.
Chase Elliott, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano and Ross Chastain are the favourites to win the championship. Elliott has the best Phoenix stats and won the regular season championship, but he has been the worst of the four during the playoffs. Bell and Logana have recently won races.
Elliott has been the best driver all season, but Bell has had a breakout season with walk-off wins in the playoffs at Charlotte and Martinsville. Chastain rode the wall at Martinville into the Championship 4. Logano is the oldest driver in this championship, having won the season-opening Clash at the L.A. Coliseum back in February. He will win his second championship in 2022.
