Coming off their worst back-to-back seasons in nearly 20 years, the Portland Trail Blazers shook things up in a major way in late September, trading seven-time All-Star/all-time franchise scoring leader Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Then, after receiving Jrue Holiday from the Bucks as part of the mega, three-team deal, the Blazers turned around and flipped the 2022-23 All-Star guard to the Boston Celtics for a package of players and future draft picks.

That leaves Portland in new-look, rebuilding mode here in the early stages of the 2023-24 season as it looks to construct a foundation around third-overall pick Scoot Henderson, holdovers Shaedon Sharpe and Jerami Grant and newcomers Deandre Ayton and Robert Williams.

Following, we break down the Trail Blazers’ 2023-24 futures odds, including their regular season win total as well as their Northwest Division and postseason outlooks.

Even though Portland finished 33-49 a season ago and is off to a 2-3 start this fall, oddsmakers’ expectations remain low.

Make that very low as the Blazers’ consensus regular season win total is only 24.5 (Bet365) — tied with the Washington Wizards for the lowest in the 30-team NBA.

That’s certainly notable for a franchise which has won fewer than 30 games only eight times in 53 seasons and failed to reach 25 season victories just three times, with the most recent being its 21-51 campaign of 2005-06.

The Western Conference, though, remains stacked, and there are no pushovers in the Blazers’ own Northwest Division, which is headed by the defending NBA-champion Denver Nuggets.

The Blazers finished last in the five-team Northwest in 2022-23 and have only won two division titles in the last 24 seasons. Those came in 2018 and 2015, respectively.

Through five games, Portland’s odds to win the Northwest stand at a consensus +15200 — easily trailing the Nuggets (-378), Oklahoma City Thunder (+525), Minnesota Timberwolves (+555) and Utah Jazz (+4400).

For those believing the Blazers have a chance at springing a major division surprise, FanDuel Sportsbook’s +21000odds offer the best value.

With the aforementioned basement regular season win total and overall strength of the Western Conference, it should be no surprise that Portland’s odds of landing one of the West’s eight playoff berths is a consensus league-low +1533.

And to wager on the Blazers missing the postseason for a third straight season, you’ll have to lay roughly -8155.

The Trail Blazers’ best “Yes”-playoff-odds value can currently be found at DraftKings Sportsbook (+1700) while the highest “No” odds are posted at FanDuel (-7000).

Those looking to take a shot at a huge return can bet on the Blazers to win the Western Conference (+50000) and/or the NBA title (+80000) at DraftKings.
