NBA Finals 2023-24 odds: Celtics, Lakers, Pelicans

The 2023-24 NBA season is about to begin, and the Boston Celtics are the early favorite to win the NBA Finals.

Oddsmakers at Caesars Sportsbook have the Celtics with the best NBA title odds at +380, with the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets not far behind at +400 and +420, respectively.

The Celtics were favored for much of last season but ended up falling short to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, with the Bucks also being eliminated by the Heat.

Both the Celtics and Bucks shook things up this offseason with new additions via trades that appear to have improved their teams, with the Nuggets keeping a similar lineup to last season as the defending champions.

Other favorites include the Phoenix Suns (+600), Golden State Warriors (+800), Los Angeles Lakers (+1100) and Los Angeles Clippers (+1800), who all have superstar talent but with questions surrounding their health.

Further down the board are the New Orleans Pelicans at +5000, who also have their share of concerns about their stars staying healthy, but they appear close to 100% heading into the season.

The Pels entire starting five is set to play in Wednesday’s season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies, but they’ll need to keep Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram healthy all season if they want to make noise in the Western Conference.

Williamson and Ingram missed a combined 90 games last season, but the Pels were near the top of the Western Conference in December when both were healthy and could make for a nice buy-low with a regular season win total of 43.5.

The Dallas Mavericks (+2500) and the Grizzlies (+3000) appear to the Pels biggest threats in their division, with the rebuilding San Antonio Spurs (+20000) and Houston Rockets (+30000) opening as long shots.

Last season’s title runner-up Miami Heat come in at +2200, with the Philadelphia 76ers (+2800), Cleveland Cavaliers (+3000), Sacramento Kings (+4000) and Minnesota Timberwolves (+4000) the only other teams with odds below 50-to-1.

Other notable longshots include the New York Knicks (+5000), Oklahoma City Thunder (+7000), Atlanta Hawks (+8000), Toronto Raptors (+12500), Chicago Bulls (+15000) and Brooklyn Nets (+15000).

The 2023-24 NBA season is set to tip off tonight with a doubleheader on TNT beginning with the Lakers at Nuggets at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Suns at Warriors at 9.
