Is now the time to bet on the Los Angeles Lakers to win the NBA Finals?

Following Sunday’s NBA playoff action, which saw the Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers even their respective series at two games apiece, the Los Angeles Lakers moved to No. 2 in the odds to win the NBA Finals.

Only the Boston Celtics (+165) have shorter odds at this point in the playoffs.

It makes sense that the Lakers’ odds moved. LA dominated the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 at home, moving them to 4-0 at Crypto.com Arena in the playoffs and 5-0 if you count the team’s Play-In game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Los Angeles has a chance to take a commanding 3-1 series lead over Golden State on Monday night.

If the Lakers lose, their odds will likely dip a little, but if they win, they are going to soar with a 3-1 lead all but guaranteeing them a spot in the Western Conference Finals.

With Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell both playing well, the Lakers are a serious threat in the Western Conference. LeBron James is chasing his fifth NBA title, and there is no doubt that the team has the experience necessary to win it all.

Oddsmakers still think Boston is a runaway favorite, but with the Celtics tied at two games apiece with Philly, things are opening up for the Lakers.
