In what may be the most anticipated matchup of the loaded night, the last two NBA champions square off in the Mile High City. The Golden State Warriors (6-2) and Denver Nuggets (7-1) are both off to hot starts this year and look like they can make deep runs in the 2024 NBA playoffs.

Stephen Curry is off to a blazing start at the ripe young age of 35, averaging over 30 points per game and leading the Warriors in scoring in each of their first eight games.

But the Nuggets are playing on another level right now, which is why they are favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook. Denver has been great on both sides of the ball, ranking top 10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency. The Nuggets defense has been particularly stout at preventing shots from deep, stifling teams that rely on three-point shooting like the Warriors. Denver swept the season series a year ago and, though this Warriors team is different, the Nuggets seem to be getting even better.

The Nuggets will be without Jamal Murray and Golden State may be without Draymond Green, who is questionable to play on Wednesday. Green being out would take away a weapon with potential to slow down Nikola Jokic.

Many are calling the Dallas Mavericks 6-1 start “lucky”, as they have not played the league’s toughest schedule, to say the least. The Mavericks’ only loss is to the aforementioned Nuggets. But you only play the teams on your schedule and Dallas has taken care of business.

The Raptors are playing the third leg of a four-game trip to the States, and have really struggled on the offensive end. They may have to play another game without Precious Achiuwa, who is questionable to return to action after missing the past four games with a groin injury. Look for Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving to continue the Mavericks winning ways and to cover the spread at FanDuel.

The former Duke big man is known for his rebounding, but he has not exceeded this total from BetMGM since the season opener. He has had 10 or fewer rebounds in five straight games, averaging eight boards on the season.
