NBA Picks January 18th

Chicago Bullsvs. Toronto Raptors

Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
Spread: Bulls -2
Total: 233.5

The Toronto Raptors are struggling, losing their last four games. And on Wednesday they made their second big trade this season, sending Pascal Siakam to Indiana. I’m guessing the Raps will be undermanned tomorrow as their new players (Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora, Kira Lewis Jr) will probably not have time to get up to Toronto to play. Plus, the Raptors have a home game on Wednesday night, so this will be a back-to-back. I think I’ll take the Chicago Bulls -2, with or without the newcomers in the lineup. No play on the total.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Utah Jazz

Spread: Thunder -3.5
Total: 245.5

The Oklahoma City Thunder are going to have their hands full with the surging Utah Jazz tomorrow night in Salt Lake City. The Jazz weren’t supposed to do much this season, but they didn’t get the memo and have won nine of their last 10 games. And at 15-5 inside the Delta Center, they are one of the league’s top home teams. Let’s ride the hot streak and take the Jazz plus the points. As for the total, it’s about 10 points too high for me, so I’m hammering the Under 245.5.

Best Bet: Jazz +3.5 (-110), Thunder/Jazz Under 245.5 (-110)
