NBA Picks January 27th

Miami Heatvs. New York Knicks

Two Eastern Conference rivals hook up Saturday afternoon, live on ABC, at The World’s Most Famous Arena, New York’s Madison Square Garden. Both the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks recently made key additions to their rosters, but these two squads are headed in opposite directions. The Heat have lost five straight games, with three of those being of the blowout variety. The Knicks, meanwhile, have had the opposite results, winning five straight, with three blowouts. Plus, at 15-5, they are one of the NBA’s best home teams. The Knicks cover, and I think this game gets into the 220s, so the Over is the play as well.

Best Bet: Knicks -5.0 (-110); Heat/Knicks Over 216 (-110)

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Boston Celtics

Spread: Celtics-6.0
Total: 235.0

The Boston Celtics say hold my beer to the New York Knicks’ 15-5 home record. The Celtics are 20-1 at TD Garden this year, with the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets sneaking by them by two points a week ago being their only blemish. The Los Angeles Clippers are playing Friday night in Toronto, Paul George is questionable due to injury, and they are only 9-10 on the road. The Celtics -6 is the play, as is the Under 235 – I think the total barely gets into the 230s.

Best Bet: Celtics -6.0 (-110); Clippers/Celtics Under 235 (-110)
