NBA picks: Nuggets vs. Hawks prediction, odds, over/under, spread, injury report for Monday, Dec. 11

The Denver Nuggets (14-9) hope to snap a three-game losing streak when they face the Atlanta Hawks (9-12) Monday evening. The Hawks are also on a three-game skid, so this is a pivotal match for both squads.

Jamal Murray is listed as probable for the Nuggets with an ankle injury. The Hawks will get Trae Young back after he missed the last game with an illness, while De’Andre Hunter is listed as questionable with quad soreness. Jalen Johnson remains out with a wrist fracture.

The Nuggets are 2.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total coming in at 241.5. Denver is -142 on the moneyline, while Atlanta checks in at +120.

It’s impossible to make a pick based on trends, since all the trends go against each other with these two squads. Young coming back in the mix is a boost for the Hawks, and he should be able to keep this close for his squad at home. I’ll take the Hawks to cover in what should be a tight game.

Even though the Nuggets rank 25th in points per game on the road, the Hawks are second in points per game at home. Atlanta rivals Indiana in scoring when it plays at home, which should overcome any struggles Denver has offensively. The Hawks are 7-2 to the over at home and even though the Nuggets are dead last in overs as the road team at 4-9, Atlanta’s offense should be enough to push this total over tonight.
