NBA player props: Best bets for Saturday, December 16 featuring Giannis, Jokic, Steph Curry

We have a huge 10-game slate in the NBA Saturday, anchored by a doubleheader on NBATV. Here’s a look at our favorite player prop bets for the day’s action, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Giannis Antetokounmpo under 33.5 points vs. Pistons (+114)

The Greek Freak just went for 64 points against the Pacers, so there’s always some risk in taking him to go under a points total. Antetokounmpo has gone over this line twice in the last five games, though he’s topped 30 points in each of those games. He played just 22 minutes in the lone matchup against the Pistons this season, scoring just 15 points. Plus, Antetokounmpo is dealing with an illness and might let some others do most of the scoring. I like the under here.

Trae Young over 3.5 3-pointers vs. Cavaliers (+100)

Young has been on fire from deep, going over this line in three of his last five games with one under coming at three made triples. He gets to take on a Cleveland team missing two of its starters, including its best perimeter defender in Darius Garland. Young is shooting 42.2% from deep over the last 11 games, so he’s willing to let it fly from behind the arc without much thought. He should be able to top this mark Saturday.

Nikola Jokic over 41.5 points + rebounds vs. Thunder (-110)

Jokic hit 42 points + rebounds in the opening matchup against Oklahoma City, which was a huge blowout win for the Nuggets. Expect Saturday’s contest to be a bit closer, which should allow Jokic to top this mark once again. The big man is averaging 23.6 points and 11.3 rebounds per game over the last eight, which includes a game against the Bulls where he logged four points and nine rebounds in 16 minutes before being ejected. Take that game out and he’s tallying 26.4 points and 11.6 boards. I like Jokic to go over this line in a key game for Denver.

Stephen Curry over 27.5 points vs. Nets (-140)

The Warriors are on a three-game losing streak and will look to their star point guard to snap them out of it. Curry was in the midst of a seven-game stretch where he averaged 28.7 points per game before putting up just 17 in a loss to the Clippers Thursday. The Nets are a league-average defensive team, which means the matchup is favorable when you consider Curry’s form. If he can get hot from deep, he should be able to easily clear this line.

Jimmy Butler over 5.5 rebounds vs. Bulls (-130)

The Heat superstar gets to take on his former team once again in a two-game set for both sides, and he’ll look to recover from a loss Thursday. Butler has averaged 4.8 rebounds per game over the six games Bam Adebayo has missed but he has topped this line in the last two. The Bulls rank 25th in opponent rebounds allowed per game, so Butler should be able to as least duplicate his effort from Thursday in this matchup.
