NBA player props: Best bets for Wednesday, December 20 featuring Embiid, Anthony Davis, Doncic

We’ve got a huge NBA slate Wednesday with 10 games on tap, anchored by a doubleheader on NBATV. Here’s a look at our favorite player props for the day’s action, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Tyrese Haliburton over 12.5 assists vs. Hornets (+105)

The Pacers point guard is averaging 11.9 assists per game this season, so he’s already dishing the ball out at a high rate. The Hornets rank 25th in points per game allowed and opponent assists allowed, so the matchup is extremely favorable as well. The Pacers haven’t really slowed anyone down defensively, so this should be a high-scoring game which means more assist opportunities for Haliburton. He finished with 12 dimes last time against Charlotte, and I’ll back him to top that mark tonight.

Joel Embiid over 33.5 points vs. Timberwolves (-135)

The reigning league MVP was not in the lineup the last time these teams met, so it’s his first matchup against Minnesota. Embiid went for 32 and 39 points against the Timberwolves in last year’s games, and the Sixers big man is averaging 40 points per game over his last seven. Philadelphia saw its six-game winning streak end Monday, so Embiid will do all he can to avoid back-to-back losses. I like him to keep pouring in the points Wednesday.

Anthony Davis over 13.5 rebounds vs. Bulls (-135)

Davis returns his hometown Wednesday night when the Lakers face the Bulls, and he’ll look to put on a show. The big man has grabbed double-digit boards in 14 straight games, and he’s gone over this line in eight of those. Two unders came at 13 rebounds. The Bulls rank 23rd in opponent rebounds allowed, so the matchup is favorable for Davis to go over this line.

Luka Doncic under 56.5 points + rebounds + assists vs. Clippers (-120)

Doncic is capable of shattering this mark easily and his record against the Clippers is tremendous. However, he went this line in both contests against LA this season heading into Wednesday’s game. The Clippers are on an eight-game winning streak and won’t have to contend with Kyrie Irving, which means they’ll focus more on Doncic. The Mavericks guard is a superstar, but I think he gets bottled up in this game.

Nikola Jokic over 38.5 points + rebounds vs. Raptors (-130)

Jokic has had a few underwhelming showings of late, although one was due to him getting ejected early. He’s coming off a contest against Dallas where he registered eight points and nine rebounds, which is well below his lofty standards. Look for the two-time MVP to bounce back in a big way against Toronto with a dominant showing. In nine games prior to his ejection against Chicago, Jokic was averaging 29.6 points and 12.2 rebounds per game.
