Nets name new head coach after backing off from Celtics’ Ime Udoka
Nets back away from hiring Ime Udoka as head coach. They hired Jacque Vaughn instead. Udokas was suspended by Celtics for the entire 2022-23 season. He was accused of having an improper relationship with a female member of the team's staff. The Nets fired Steve Nash on Nov. 1 after a 2-5 start. Kyrie Irving is serving a five-game suspension for posting a link to a film with anti-Semitic tropes. Irving met with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and they agreed to move forward. The meeting took place Tuesday. Nets are currently 2nd in the Eastern Conference with 4-7 record.
