Sorokin last played Monday, stopping 28 of 31 shots against the Oilers. The 28-year-old has been a much better goalie on home ice over his career. He owns an .892 SV% on the road this season.

Islanders at Canucks picks and predictions

Prediction

Canucks 4, Islanders 3

The Canucks are a lean. They’re 4-1-0 on 2 days’ rest, and they’ve scored 5 goals in 3 of those wins.

The Islanders have some wildly inconsistent puck-possession numbers. They may well be a decent play in the near future, but that future doesn’t figure to be as near as this road trip.

PASS on the current tag, but look to make a partial-unit wager if the Vancouver price reaches -155.

The Canucks are a would-be lean here because the contest has a likable Over play. But the pricing here falls short. AVOID.

Peg the Vancouver defense as being out too far over its skis, and the New York offense as getting more goal production as it likely regresses upward from an awful 7.5% shooting percentage.

Add in Sorokin’s road struggles, and the OVER 6 (-120) is a decent play.
