Newcastle Knights vs Canterbury Bulldogs prediction and odds: NRL 2023 Round 24

Newcastle Knights vs Canterbury Bulldogs – Match Predictions

There’s a lot on the line for one team in this contest, while the other will simply be playing for pride. Here are our top predictions ahead of the Knights vs Bulldogs this Sunday:

Newcastle Knights to Lead Half Time/Full Time

With the Newcastle Knights sitting in eighth spot in the fourth to last round of the regular season, it’s hard to see them passing up a chance to bag another two points here against the Canterbury Bulldogs. Playing in front of a home crowd, and coming into this game off the back of five straight wins, we see this match being all one way traffic.

Back Newcastle to come out of the blocks fast, and keep it that way for the full 80.

Newcastle Knights to Win by 13+

Six weeks is not a lot of time for the Bulldogs to rectify what happened the last time these two sides met, which was a 66-0 pasting. Though Canterbury should be improved, and have managed two good wins since then, even if they are better this should still be a healthy winning margin to the Knights.

Newcastle Knights vs Canterbury Bulldogs preview

Heading into this match, here’s a look at how both teams’ seasons have gone so far in the NRL 2023:

Newcastle Knights

It’s safe to say that the Newcastle Knights are this year’s surprise package. After several woeful years in the NRL, Newcastle have come out firing in 2023, and are arguably the form team of the competition right now having not lost since June.

Sitting in eighth place with a record of 10 wins, nine losses and one draw, the Knights will need to finish strong the next month if they’re to see any football beyond the regular season.

Canterbury Bulldogs

Another tough year for Bulldogs fans, as Canterbury currently sit two spots from the bottom, and have no chance of making the playoffs for yet another year. The side has managed just seven wins from 20 games, and while two of those have come in their past four matches, it’s been slim pickings in 2023 for Canterbury.

Newcastle Knights vs Canterbury Bulldogs head to head

These two sides share a head to head that is as tight as can be, with 21 matches won each, and a draw. However, their last meeting was far from even, with the Knights winning 66-0 in early July.
