Newmarket Stakes: Nations Pride lands impressive Listed success for red-hot Appleby team
Nations Pride won the Newmarket Stakes for Charlie Appleby's team. The colt won on the Rowley Mile and the Jumeirah Derby. He is not entered for the Derby, but he will probably go for Royal Ascot. Appley has saddled Native Trail and Coroebus for Saturday's Qipco 2000 Guineas. New London, Walk Of Stars and Nahanni are also in the running for Derby but they are more likely to go to Royal Atcot instead.
Appleby and Buick won the King Charles II Stakes. Noble Truth also won. Appleby will supplement Noble truth for the Commonwealth Cup. Appley and William will discuss the possibility of supplementing NobleTruth for that. The horse was a Listed winner at two and won in the Group One Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at ParisLongchamp. He was tailed off in Saudi Derby in February. William thinks Nobletruth has enough natural pace to come back to six furlongs.
