Newsboy's horse racing selections for Tuesday's four meetings, including Plumpton Nap

Newsboy's expects his Nap, Iconic Muddle, to be the clear-cut choice in the Tysers Veterans' Handicap Chase at Plumpton, and he also fancies Lowry's Bar to continue his unbeaten run at Chepstow

ICONIC MUDDLE can rise above the opposition in the Tysers Veterans' Handicap Chase (2.25) over three miles and a one and a half furlongs at Plumpton.

The 11-year-old, a winner previously over hurdles at the Sussex course, returned after a nine-month lay-off 10 days ago, finishing a fine second in a Wincanton handicap chase, rallying in the closing stages and going down by just half a length.

That was over two and half miles, and this extended trip should suit him. With the benefit of a run, Gary Moore’s charge comes into the race primed for a big run.

LOWRY’S BAR can continue his unbeaten hurdling career with a fourth success in the Vickers.Bet Weekly Free Bet Club Handicap Hurdle (2.35) at Chepstow over an extended two miles and three furlongs.

The progressive six-year-old won at the Monmouthshire venue on his second outing by six lengths, and now is asked to step up in trip by joint trainers Philip Hobbs and Johnson White.

While he carries top weight of 12st, the extra three furlongs and good ground look sure to benefit him further.
