Next Tottenham Manager Odds: Pochettino Favourite To Replace Unhappy Conte

Antonio Conte’s days as Tottenham Hotspur manager are numbered, and believe a new head coach could be in position sooner rather than later.

Conte’s contract in north London expires at the end of the season and he has continually refused to commit his long-term future to the club.

Following recent eliminations from the FA Cup and Champions League, many Spurs supporters are no longer happy with the Italian’s leadership.

Conte will almost certainly be gone by the summer at the latest, so who might replace him? Let’s take a look at some of the potential candidates.

Pochettino The Favourite To Return To Spurs

Tottenham enjoyed their best times in recent years under the management of Pochettino.

True, they did not win a trophy during the Argentine's five-and-a-half year tenure, but Spurs consistently punched above their weight while he was in the dugout.

The idea of finishing as Premier League and Champions League runners-up pre-Pochettino would have seemed ludicrous, yet that is exactly what Tottenham did on his watch - all while playing exciting, front-foot football with a young team that the fans identified with.

Pochettino has been out of a job since leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season, and reports suggest he would be interested in a second spell at Spurs.

As things stand, he is the 7/4 favourite with to return to the role.

Tuchel Still Waiting For The Right Opportunity

Tottenham have made a habit of employing former Chelsea managers: Conte is just the latest in a group which also includes Jose Mourinho, Andre Villas-Boas and Glenn Hoddle.

Could Tuchel, who is priced at 6/1 with Parimatch, be next? The German did a fantastic job at Chelsea, guiding them to Champions League glory in 2021 and reaching three domestic cup finals in just over a season and a half at the helm.

He was sacked last year primarily because he was not Todd Boehly’s man, rather than because he had lost the faith of the supporters or the backing of the dressing room.

Tuchel is a superb coach and Tottenham would have to pull out all the stops to entice him to take the job.

De Zerbi And Frank Already Starring In Premier League

When Tottenham were on the lookout for a successor to Mourinho in the summer of 2021, they eventually settled on Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Portuguese had previously done a fine job at Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he performed poorly at Spurs and was promptly sacked within months of taking over.

That does not mean Tottenham should not look elsewhere in the Premier League when it comes to their next manager, though.

Thomas Frank continues to do a brilliant job at Brentford, and he can be backed at 10/1 with to replace Conte.

Roberto De Zerbi, meanwhile, is available at 8/1. His style of football would make him the more exciting choice, but Brighton & Hove Albion will be loath to lose the Italian before he has even completed a full year at the helm.

Rodgers’ Poor Season Will Count Against Him

Brendan Rodgers might have been a strong contender for the role had it come up this time last year.

Indeed, he was one of the names in the frame when Tottenham were looking for a replacement for Nuno.

But Leicester City’s poor campaign - which has them among the favourites for - will count against him.

The Foxes have twice finished fifth under Rodgers, while they also won the FA Cup in 2021, but this season has been dismal.

Despite having one of the strongest squads outside the big six, Leicester are involved in the relegation battle.

That is not all Rodgers’ fault. Leicester’s recruitment in the last couple of years has been mixed at best, with the club making just one outfield signing last summer.

But odds of 12/1 show that Rodgers is unlikely to end up at Tottenham this time around.

Galtier And Postecoglou Among The Outsiders

Christophe Galtier is fighting for his job at PSG after their exit from the Champions League this week.

The club have much deeper problems than the manager, but there were already doubts about the Frenchman’s suitability for the role.

However, Galtier is not expected to take charge at Tottenham, with the Frenchman currently priced at 14/1 with BetVictor

He has never managed outside France and is presumably not on the radar of Daniel Levy or Fabio Paratici.

Available at the same price with is Ange Postecoglou, who looks set to lead Celtic to a second Scottish Premiership title this term.

The Australian would find it difficult to turn down an offer from Spurs, but given he has worked in Europe for less than two years, he is only an outsider for the position.
