Saturday’s NFL Week 15 tripleheader kicks off with an intriguing inter-conference matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the hosting Cincinnati Bengals (1 p.m. ET, NFL Network).

Cincinnati (7-6) is a consensus field goal home favorite (-165 moneyline) Saturday with a game total of 40 points.

That’s on the heels of two consecutive impressive wins for the Bengals, who have beaten the Jacksonville Jaguars (34-31 in overtime) and Indianapolis Colts (34-14) to climb back into the crowded AFC wild-card chase.

Stepping in for the injured Joe Burrow, QB Jake Browning has started the last three games for Cincy, throwing for 856 yards and four touchdowns while adding two more TDs on the ground.

On the subject of fill-in quarterbacks, the Vikings (7-6) are scheduled to send out their fourth QB starter this season in veteran Nick Mullens, who replaced the ineffective Joshua Dobbs in last Sunday’s 3-0 win in Las Vegas.

Dobbs and rookie Jaren Hall had started the previous four games for the injured Kirk Cousins. In the NFC playoff race, Minnesota enters the weekend as the sixth seed — a game ahead of five 6-7 pursuers.

Despite being fresh QB faces, Browning and Mullens should have All-Pro wide receivers to throw to in former LSU teammates Ja’Marr Chase (Bengals) and Justin Jefferson (Vikings), along with strong supplementary weapons in WRs Tee Higgins and Jordan Addison, running back Joe Mixon and tight end T.J. Hockenson.

Combined with two solid but not impregnable defenses there is a solid chance for an “over” recipe Saturday.

The Bengals’ lead back has rushed for 68 yards or more in three of Cincy’s last four games. But impressive rookie Chase Brown has been thrust into action of late with 17 of his 19 rushing attempts coming in the last two games.

And then there’s the Vikings’ formidable rush defense which is limiting the opposition’s running backs to the sixth-fewest ground yards per contest (69.9).
