NHL Best Bets Today

The trade deadline has come and gone, and certain teams made major improvements. The Vegas Golden Knights may have had the best deadline I’ve seen and their Stanley Cup prop is around +850. Of course other teams were sellers, which may make them great targets for points and SOG (shots on goal) against.

The Vegas Golden Knights made the biggest splash this deadline and host the Detroit Red Wings. Two of the top Canadian teams will battle, as the Vancouver Canucks host the Winnipeg Jets. We’ll end our night in Sin City as the Vegas Golden Knights host the Vancouver Canucks. Now let’s dig into the NHL best bets today! David Perron was selected. by the Vegas Golden Knights in the expansion draft. He was one of the original Knights players and went to the Stanley Cup Final with them in their inaugural season. After leaving the Vegas only after one season Perron was quoted saying that that season was the best year of his life. Perron apparently isn’t happy that he isn’t still in Vegas.

While Perron’s normal SOG (shots on goal) line is 1.5, we are going to take it up a notch. He has had 3 SOG or more in 6 straight games against the Golden Knights, averaging 5.8 shot attempts per game. He has hit his 2.5. SOG line in 13 of the last 15 games against the Knights.

The Vegas Golden Knights have been a great target lately for shots. They are allowing the 3rd most shots against over the last 10 home games. Over the course of the season they rank 11th in most shots against. All this adds up to Perron o2.5 SOG being an NHL best bet tonight.

A side from this game that looks like a great bet is the Jack Eichel o3.5 SOG. Jack had 5 and 6 SOG on 8 and 11 attempts in his two games back since returning from an injury he suffered on 1/11. He gets a Detroit team at who are allowing the 4th most shots against to centers. He has hit 7 of his L10 averaging 7.3 shot attempts in that span. You can get Jack Eichel o3.5 SOG for -125  on Bovada.

The Vancouver Canucks will host the Winnipeg Jets, as two of the two top Canadian teams battle it out. The Jets are coming off a win in Seattle last night. The Canucks are in a prime spot to capitalize on a tired team, and if you are going to beat the leagues best goaltender Hellebuyck you need to throw pucks on net.

Brock Boeser is the Canucks leading goalscorer this season. He is tied for 7th in the league with 35 goals. And you gotta shoot to score. After a cold streak last month he is warming up again. He has 5 goals in his last 10 games, and his uptick in shots may be a big reason why.

In his last 10 games, Boeser has hit his SOG prop 6 times and 4 times in his last 5 games. He is averaging 5.1 shot attempts per game in his last 10. The Jets have been leakier lately and are allowing the 10th most shots against over the last 10 games. They is a great spot for Boeser to continue shooting.

Not only is Boeser’s SOG one of the NHL best bets of the day but so is Josh Morriessy assist. He has an assist in 8 of the last 10 games and has 16 assists in those games. The value is too good here to ignore, even if Vancouver is a tough team. Luckily the Canucks are giving up the 9th most goals per game. You can get Morrissey assist for +115 on BETUS.

You don’t often see William Nylander’s SOG prop at a decent price. He was hitting this line very consistently at the start of the season, driving the price down. But over the last 15 games he has only hit this prop 5 times. So why is he a best bet tonight?

The Toronto Maples Leafs will take on the Montreal Canadians tonight. Nylander LOVES playing the Canadians. He has hit in 8 of the last 9 times he has played against them, often soaring past his SOG line. In those 9 games Nylander averaged 9 shot attempts per game.

The Canadians are a great SOG target as well. In the last 10 games they are allowing the 11th most shots against. But over the course of the season Montreal allows the 3rd most shots against. All of this adds up to Nylander SOG being a best NHL bet today.

Not only is Nylander’s SOG a great looking pick but so is the Toronto Maple Leads o3.5 Total Goals. The red hot Maple Leafs offense has cooled off a bit. They were just taken down by the Bruins twice and struggled to score against Buffalo. Montreal is the perfect target to get rolling again. The Canadians allow the 3rd most goals against in the league this season. You can get TOR TT o3.5 for -125 on Bovada.
