Analysis:
- Nylander has netted a goal in each of his past five games and in three of the last five meetings versus Chicago. Chicago has allowed the 28th-most goals (3.65) and 29th-most shots per game (32.53). I like Nylander’s chances to keep his streak going considering he's totaled at least three shots in each of his past ten games — one of them is bound to find the back of the net.
- Hughes has been cold in the goal-scoring department since returning from injury, scoring just three times in the last 10 games but he’s scored four goals in three of the last five games versus Columbus. New Jersey just got embarrassed by Detroit last game, losing 4-0, and will be hungry to put on a show for its home fans.
- Rantanen has netted a goal in six of his past 10 games and in three of the last six meetings versus Minnesota. Much like Nylander, Rantanen’s matchup on paper is about as good as it gets. Minnesota has allowed the 31st-most goals (4.02) and 25th-most shots per game (32.0). There’s genuine risk here considering Rantanen hasn’t been totaling many shots on net across the last 10 games but nonetheless, he’s still scoring and this is a great spot to continue the streak.
