NHL parlay picks March 14: Bet on underdog Jets, Coyotes

Bettors are in for a treat with Tuesday’s 12-game NHL slate.

The pregame narrative: The Arizona Coyotes are surging and we’re firing them up as underdogs against the Calgary Flames. The Winnipeg Jets seem to be settling in after a tough stretch, and find themselves up against the suddenly-sputtering Carolina Hurricanes. Lastly, we’re picking the Pittsburgh Penguins to beat the Montreal Canadiens.

NHL odds as of 10:54 a.m. on 03/14/2023.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Coyotes +1.5 (-127) + Jets +1.5 + Penguins moneyline (+277)

Coyotes +1.5 (-127): Don’t look now, but Arizona’s one of the hottest teams in the NHL.

The Coyotes have won three of their last four and have a point in five consecutive games. They’re not just competing against the league’s also-rans, either, facing playoff teams like the New Jersey Devils, Colorado Avalanche, and Minnesota Wild during this stretch.

Stellar goaltending’s the main culprit as their .938 save percentage is fifth over the last week, according to Natural Stat Trick.

They’re facing off against a Calgary team that struggles to win by margin. The Flames have won by two-plus goals in just one of their last nine and two of their last 14. They’re actually the second-least profitable team to back on the puck line this year (-17.36 units), per Scores and Odds.

Other parlay picks

Jets +1.5 (-152): It really does feel like another disappointing season is brewing in Carolina.

There are plenty of concerns on the ice as the playoffs inch closer. The Hurricanes have lost their last two games by a score of 7-0, including an important contest with the New Jersey Devils.

Off the ice, it gets even worse. Andrei Svechnikov’s dealing with a knee injury that may potentially be a torn ACL per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. The ailment would sideline the forward for the remainder of the season, a huge blow to a squad that’s not rich with scoring.

Winnipeg, meanwhile, has shaken off a five-game losing streak by earning a point in four of its last five. The Jets have covered this number in five of their last seven outings.

Penguins moneyline (-375): Montreal has lost seven consecutive games and things don’t get any easier on the road against Pittsburgh.

The Penguins are starting to find their game. They’ve won seven of their last nine, scoring a pair of huge victories over the Tampa Bay Lightning and another over the New York Rangers in the process. They’re in no position to let up, either, still fighting for a playoff spot in the ultra-deep Eastern Conference.

Their offence is the unit finding consistency as it has potted three-plus goals in eight of Pittsburgh’s last nine outings.

It shouldn’t find any resistance against the Canadiens’ porous defence and goaltending. They’ve allowed a whopping 23 goals across their last five, including eight to the Avalanche on Monday.
