NHL parlay picks March 3: Bet on Devils, Hurricanes

There are six NHL games on Friday’s schedule and three picks we’re targeting for our parlay.

The pregame narrative: The New Jersey Devils are one of the NHL’s best road teams, and we’re banking on them to beat the Vegas Golden Knights. We’re also expecting the under to come through in that contest and will take the Carolina Hurricanes to handle the Arizona Coyotes.

NHL odds as of 10:36 a.m. on 03/03/2023.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Devils moneyline + Golden Knights vs. Devils under 7.5 goals + Hurricanes moneyline (+222)

Devils moneyline (-112): New Jersey and Vegas will meet in what’s surely the game of the night, and we’re siding with the former on the moneyline.

The Devils are one of the best road teams in the NHL. Their 22-4-3 record away from Prudential Center is the second-best mark in the league. They’re averaging the second-most goals per game on the road (3.93) while tying for the fifth-fewest against (2.62).

New Jersey’s also looking like a legitimate Cup contender as of late. The team has won three consecutive games and five of six, outscoring opponents 29-17 over the last half dozen.

The Devils’ league-leading 65.7% expected goals percentage over the last seven days per Natural Stat Trick shows that their positive results aren’t a fluke.

The Golden Knights are playing well, but their home record (19-13-1) isn’t blowing anyone away.

Other parlay picks

Devils vs. Golden Knights under 7.5 goals (-315): Vegas is one of the best unders teams in the league, and we’re happily backing the squad to go below this teased-up number.

The Golden Knights have the fifth-highest unders percentage (57.4%) this season. They’ve gone below this total in five consecutive contests and 19 of their last 22. A big reason for that is surprisingly strong goaltending. They’re tied for the eighth-highest team save percentage (.909) this year despite deploying a tandem of unproven puck-stoppers.

New Jersey, meanwhile, is playing some very solid defensive hockey. The Devils are allowing the lowest expected goals against per 60 (1.99) across the last seven days.

Hurricanes moneyline (-335): We likely don’t need to get into specifics with this pick.

At 39-12-8, Carolina’s one of the best teams in the league. At 21-31-9, Arizona’s not.

The Hurricanes, specifically, are one of the league’s best road teams. Their 18-5-6 road record is third in the NHL, and they’ve won five of their last six away from PNC Arena.

The Coyotes aren’t entering this contest on any wave of positive results, losing three of their last four. Opponents are outscoring the Yotes 17-10 during this stretch and averaging over four goals per game (4.25).
