NHL Prop Bets & Picks: Tuesday, January 16

After a quick browse through the NHL matchups tonight, here's the best prop bets we've found.

Mitch Marner to record 1 or more assists (-110)

The Leafs journey out to Western Canada looking to snap a three-game slide with their first meeting against McDavid and the Oilers. Now, unlike Toronto, Edmonton is riding a wave featuring a 10-game streak. However, two of its last three dubs ended in extra time and all three were decided by a single goal. Two of the matchups were against Montreal (2.76) and Chicago (2.26) who both sit in the bottom five for goals per game.  So, do I think Toronto will put up a fight? Yes.

Whether you like to admit it and trust me, as a Habs fan, I don't -- Toronto is one of the most offensively capable groups in the league averaging 3.61 GPG (ranked fourth). I typically would lean on either group's powerplay props but it seems neither take too many penalties, both sitting below 170 minutes this season.

Instead, I'll rely on the top lines to produce. In his career, Mitch Marner has versed the Oilers 20 times and carries 23 points, 16 of which are assists. He'll be eager to flip the puck to his teammates to get on the board and throw the losing monkey off their backs.

Clayton keller OVER 2.5 shots (-105)

Keller 118 shots this season leads Arizona by a mile, Lawson Crouse's 93 falls second-best. Tonight the 25-year-old goes head-to-head against a Calgary core that is having a pretty mediocre season, hovering around league average both offensively and defensively.

Yes, I'm aware these two met just a few nights ago with the Flames burning it down in a 6-2 victory. But, Keller still snagged four shots and hit the back of the net once in the loss. He's piled up 15 shots in his last five performances, this should be a promising bet that falls just under plus-money profit.

san jose vs chicago Goal In The First 9m 59s of The Period 1st Period - NO (+115)

Personally, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I don't think either bench could score if there was just a chair blocking the net. Both the Sharks (2.05) and Blackhawks (2.26) sit side-by-side as the NHL's worst offense -- congratulations. Plus, with Bedard out with a long-term injury, Chicago is without its top point scorer and it shows. Don't expect an entertaining matchup here. In fact, save the electricity bill and just turn the scoreboard off for a bit.
