‘No rules violated’ in controversial Assiniboia Downs race

Sheldon Chickeness lost the Assiniboia Downs race by a neck. The Manitoba Jockey Club operates the Winnipeg track. Darren Dunn, CEO of the club, believes Chickenessa should have been sanctioned for the ride of King Witt. LGCA ruled no offence was committed in the race. Dunn believes the jockey overcompensated and affected the outcome of race and the order of finish. He believes that Chickenesses actions affected outcome and integrity of a race, but LG CA's decision was correct. It was to protect the wagering public.
