No Vote on Caesars Sportsbook Massachusetts Online License Application

Caesars Sportsbook's application for a tethered Category 3 online sports betting license did not receive a vote today. Caesar's Sportsbooks is tetered to Encore Boston Harbor, which has partnered with WynnBET for its online betting services. WynNBETA received the first tetched Category3 online sport betting licence in state history on Tuesday.

The Gaming Commission is not going to vote on Caesars Sportsbook Massachusetts license application. Commissioner Eileen O'Brien and her fellow commissioners are concerned about the responsible gaming section of the application and the marketing strategies employed by Caeresars. Caerus SportsBook signed a deal to become the official sportsbook operator of LSU Athletics. The SVP of Regulatory and Compliance assured the commissioners that Caers Sports Book has no intention of pursuing any marketing relationships with Massachusetts colleges. The company has designed numerous controls to restrict direct marketing to individuals under 21 and avoid associations with areas outside of stadiums and arenas.

Massachusetts Gaming Commission is running out of time to complete its remaining hearings on its Category 3 online sports betting licenses and Category 1 retail sports bets licenses. The hearings have been much longer than expected. There will be no vote on Caesars Sportsbook Massachusetts Online License Application. Next week the commission will discuss Plainridge Park Casino’s application for a Category1 retail sport betting license and Barstool Sports and Fanatics” application.
