Wynn Awarded First Sports Betting License In Massachusetts

Encore Boston Harbor became the first Massachusetts property to get a license for a brick-and-mortar sportsbook. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission deferred the licenses for PENN Entertainment’s Plainridge Park and MGM Springfield. In-person sports betting is set to launch in late January and digital in early March. Wynn has been awarded the state's first sportsbetting license.

Wynn has been awarded the first sports betting license in Massachusetts. The MGC had questions about the relationship between Encore Boston Harbor and WynnBET. EnCore Boston Harbour proposed to put kiosks in its parking garage and temporarily move them into event spaces. The idea is on En core's "wish list" and is not included in the application. There will be a 15-minute time limit in a kiosk parking area. It will also be monitored by both security and parking attendants.

Encore Boston Harbor will convert its current sports bar into a WynnBET sportsbook. The company will also locate kiosks around the gaming floor, on the mezzanine level and in the parking garage.
