N.C. State vs. Duke odds, preview and picks - March 4 college basketball

It's the final week of the ACC regular season and each team is down to its final two scheduled games. Duke has North Carolina on the horizon this weekend but shouldn't be looking ahead, as a road win on Monday night keeps it in play for a share of the ACC regular-season title if it also takes down UNC on Saturday.

Currently, Duke is in the No. 2 spot in the ACC and according to Bracketology from Joe Lunardi, the Blue Devils are currently a No. 4 seed while UNC is on the No. 2 line.

Duke is one of the most efficient scoring teams in the country (17th overall) and is the second-rated team in the nation at 3-point percentage rating on offense at Haslamentrics. It goes both ways for Duke, as they're 14th on defense in the same category.

The Blue Devils are also 69th in near-proximity field-goal percentage, which means they can score around the basket. Combine that with strong offensive rebounding numbers and a lack of turnovers, and you can see why this is one of the top 15 teams in the country.

Duke is 17-11-1 against the spread this season including 4-5-1 on the road, while the Wolfpack are 13-15-1 overall (8-8 at home). Normally, this would be a look-ahead game for Duke as N.C. State looks to play spoiler in its final home game of the season. But since the Blue Devils can make Saturday a whole lot more interesting with a win, Jon Scheyer's team should be locked in.

While retail sports betting in North Carolina was legalized in 2019, NC online sports betting was officially signed into law on June 14, 2023 by Governor Roy Cooper. Initial plans called for a January 2024 launch, but delays pushed the project past the Super Bowl before plans were drawn up for March.

With a huge betting menu and an open market featuring multiple sportsbooks, the Tar Heel State is projected to take in $7 billion worth of bets in the first year as the industry creates a new stream of tax revenue for the state.
