Northeastern women’s hockey team pursues national title
Northeastern women's hockey team is aiming for a third straight Frozen Four. Maureen Murphy is the nation's leading goal-scorer. She is playing her sixth season at Northeastern after a redshirt season in 2019-20 at Providence College. Alina Mueller and Chloé Aurard are the team's other experienced forwards. The team has reached two NCAA Frozen Fours and came within overtime of a national title in 2021. They are favorites to win a sixth straight Hockey East title. They play their season opener at 6 p.m. (Eastern Time) Friday at Matthews Arena in Boston against Long Island University.
Murphy is the nation's leading scorer. She is trying to make the most of her final season at Northeastern. She wants to play in the professional league.
