Notre Dame football looking like victor in battle for Top 100 DB

It's not hard to see that the Notre Dame football team absolutely knows that the recruiting season is never over. Once the finishing touches are put on the 2024 class, it's time to turn the attention to the 2025 class.

Marcus Freeman and company turned their attention to the 2025 class in a big way on Saturday as they had their first Junior Day of the year. In the aftermath, more than a few players look like they might be Fighting Irish leans, including one of the best defensive backs in the class in Dallas Golden.

Dallas Golden was among those who took in everything South Bend had to offer and it appears that he came away more than a little impressed. In fact, Irish Illustrated's Tom Loy believes that Golden was so impressed that the Notre Dame football team is now the odds on favorite to land the 4-star DB's commitment.

For the record, Loy is currently sporting a spotless 11-for-11 when it comes to predicting where a player will commit in 2024. That has to be seen as only good news for the Irish, who already have the top class for the 2025 cycle, according to Loy's website.

Should the Fighting Irish indeed land Golden, it would mean they nabbed him over college football powers like Clemson, Florida, Georgia and Miami among others.

The Tampa Florida native is currently ranked as the 92nd best prospect in his class and the 14th best player in the state.

Dallas Golden certainly looks every bit the part of a talented defensive back. He's also got some serious skills on the offensive side of the ball. Berkley Prep definitely saw that he could be someone that caused havoc on both offense and defense.

Golden managed to amass more than 2,000 total yards from scrimmage playing running back, receiver and even some wildcat quarterback. As a defensive back he nabbed 5 interceptions.

It's not hard to see why Notre Dame football is hoping to close the deal quickly with Dallas Golden.
