The Nationals and Phillies played a double header yesterday so we’re anticipating some tired bats out of the gates in today’s third game of their series starting at 6:40pm ET.
MacKenzie Gore gets the start for Washington not allowing a first inning run in 18 of 22 starts on the season including nine straight going against Michael Lorenzen of Philadelphia who hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 13 of 19 starts on the season including eight straight.
These two played to a NRFI in one of their double header games yesterday with Gore only allowing five earned runs in his last 16 innings pitched.
Lorenzen has only allowed five earned runs in his last 26.2 innings pitched! Play on a Nationals vs Phillies NRFI tonight with odds listed at -104.
NRFI Prediction 2: Dodgers vs Diamondbacks (+102)
We saw a NRFI in yesterday’s series opener between the Dodgers and Diamondbacks and we’ll go with another one happening tonight as Bobby Miller takes the mound against Merrill Kelly.
Miller has never faced the Diamondbacks but hasn’t allowed a first inning run in eight of 12 total starts on the season while sporting a 2.61 road ERA.
Kelly’s first inning stats are slightly better as he hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 15 of 19 total starts while allowing opponents to bat .192 at Chase Field. He also sports a 2.66 night time ERA while allowing opponents to bat .200.
The Diamondbacks have played to a NRFI in seven of their last eight games with the Dodgers playing to one in five of their last eight. Play on a Dodgers vs Diamondbacks NRFI tonight with odds at +102 and first pitch set for 9:40pm ET.
