ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll take a stab on the A’s as a value play here. Oakland should have some early opportunities while Kirby is out there—if he can’t get it together, that is. Over his last three starts Kirby is 0-2 with 11 earned runs in 15.1 innings on 16 hits and four walks. The good news for Seattle is that Kirby has gone at least 6.0 innings in each of his last two outings, though. As for Estes, it’ll be interesting to see what he can do here. A few good innings would be great news for the A’s. On Tuesday Oakland had another rough night at the plate. That gives the A’s two or fewer runs in five of the last six games (and three runs in the other), so they’ve got to get the bats going in this finale to stave off the sweep.
