Ohio sports betting: Everything you need to know
FanDuel has launched online sports betting in the state of Ohio. It's a great opportunity for bettors to make money. Ohio has a lot of professional sports teams and a good amount of FCS universities. The launch of mobile sports gambling in Ohio is a big step forward for the sport. The state has the popularity of the Cavaliers, Bengals, Browns, Guardians, Reds, Ohio State, Blue Jackets and even a few MLS teams.
PTSA is overturned in May 2018. This opens the door for states to legalize online sports gambling.
In October 2019, Rep Dave Greenspan tweaks H-194 with a trio of amendments. In May 2020, the bill advances through House Finance Committee.
Sports betting bill SB 29 passes both chambers of the Ohio legislature and is signed by Gov. Mike DeWine in December 2021.
FanDuel Sportsbook will apply for a license in June 2022. The projected go-live date is January 1 2023.
November 2022: Numerous sportsbooks unveil pre-registration offers, including FanDuel. Online sports betting in the states of New York, Illinois and Ohio could develop over time.
