Kansas Sports Betting is Live: Here's What You Need to Know
Kansas begins legal sports betting with a soft launch today at noon CT. The official launch is on September 8. The Sunflower State is officially live for offering legal betting.

Kansas Star Casino will have a FanDuel sportsbook. Hollywood Casino, Northeast in Kansas City, will also have Barstool sportsbooks. There are 12 licenses for sports betting in the state. Six of them will launch today. Three others have partnerships in place and should launch in near future. DraftKings is expected to launch a retail outlet at Boot Hill in October and Caesars will eventually operate a sports book inside Kansas Crossing.

The state senate introduced SB 84 in January 2021 and the house passed it in April 2022. It was not ready in time for this year's NFL kickoff, but it was ready recently. The state lottery proposed their own regulations. A 10% tax rate will be levied on all sports betting. Most of the revenue will go to a fund to lure professional sports teams to Kansas.
