Ohio State Football vs. Purdue Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 7

The Ohio State football team is coming off a nice win over an undefeated Maryland team. They now get to take on a team that has given them some issues in the past. Purdue always seems to play them well for whatever reason. This Purdue team might be different though.

Purdue is really bad this year. They are just 2-4 on the season, having only beaten Virginia Tech and Illinois. The good news for the Boilermakers is that they get this one at home. The Buckeyes do have issues beating Purdue on the road for some reason.

Ohio State Football vs. Purdue Odds, Spread, and Total

According to FanDuel, the Buckeyes are 20.5-point favorites over the Boilermakers. That’s not as big of a spread as I thought it would be, considering the Buckeyes were 19.5-point favorites over Maryland right before kickoff. Purdue is much worse than the Terps.

Perhaps the oddsmakers are keeping the past history between these two things into consideration. The total sits at 51.5, which seems about right. Ohio State can’t put up a ton of points as they were doing regularly in the last couple of seasons.

Ohio State Football vs. Purdue Key Players to Watch

For the Buckeyes, it’s the entire offensive line, particularly the tackles. Josh Fryar and Josh Simmons have proven that they can’t block at all in the run game. Neither of them does a good job of getting into the second level to block. They need to get that fixed this week.

For Purdue, it’s Hudson Card. The Texas transfer has 6 touchdowns to 5 interceptions this season. That’s not a very good ratio. If the Buckeyes can turn him over early, this game could be over in a hurry. Let’s hope that’s exactly what they do.
