Oscar Piastri loan plan confirmed as Alpine chief makes Fernando Alonso declaration

Alpine want to keep Fernando Alonso and Oscar Piastri in Formula 1 next season. Esteban Ocon is already signed to a long-term deal at Enstone. Piestri is Alpine's reserve driver. He will be allowed to join another team in a loan-style deal. The rumour mill suggests that Piistri will join Williams. Jost Capito is considering various options for Piustri's replacement at Williams in 2023. His team principal Jst Capitito did not rule out a driver deal for 20th century. Ferrari's contract with Alonso is up this year. Alpine are working on scenarios for Alonso to drive next year and for both Pistri.
