Pac-12 Football Notes: USC, UCLA Reliving 1988; Oregon Rolling

Both UCLA and USC are 6-0 this season. Both teams have a Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback. UCLA was ranked No. 1 in 1988 and the Trojans at No 3 in that year. USC and UCLA will meet on Nov. 19 with a Rose Bowl berth on the line. The race for the Roses is far from over. UCLA has a bye this week, but then travels to Oregon for a game against the 12-ranked Ducks. Oregon has won 22 straight home games. Next Saturday USC faces Utah in Salt Lake City. Utah has also won its last 22 home matches. It's the third-longest home winning streak in the country.

Oregon lost to Georgia in the season opener. Since then, the Ducks have won five straight games and scored more than 40 points in all of them. Oregon leads the Pac-12 in scoring at 42.0 points per game and total offense at 512.5 yards per contest. The Ducks will play UCLA at home on October 22 after a bye week.

Oregon lost to Georgia 46-0 in early September. Bo Nix dropped two back-breaking interceptions. UCLA and USC are reliving 1988.

Stanford lost 28-27 to Oregon State after blowing a 24-10 lead. Tre'Shaun Harrison caught a 56-yard touchdown with 13 seconds left. Stanford suffered its 11th consecutive loss to an FBS opponent.  “What is going to get lost is that we probably played our best game of the year”, said coach David Shaw.

UCLA is 6-0, 3-1 in Pac-12 and unranked in preseason.

USC is unbeaten and hasn't faced a ranked opponent yet.

Oregon is 5-1 and 3-0 in the Pac-12.

Utah is not out of the Pac-12 race yet, but must beat USC next week.

Washington lost to Arizona State on Saturday.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson was excellent in wins over Washington and Utah.

Caleb Williams has 14 TD passes for the No. 7 team, USC.

Bo Nix, Oregon's quarterback, was 20-for-25 passing, 70 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns against Arizona on Saturday.

Zach Charbonnet, UCLA's running back, is leading the Pac-12 in rushing (123.0 yards per game) and averaging 7.1 yards a carry. Char Bonnet ran for 198 yards against Utah.

Tuli Tuipulotu, USC's defensive lineman, has 12.5 tackles for loss, tied for the most in the country.
