Football is back. Today I predict 11 of the Pac-12 teams non-conference matchups. Check back Friday for my Kent State at Washington prediction.
Northern Arizona plays Arizona State at 7 pm. Herm Edwards is back as head coach after an off-season that saw three assistant coaches let go. Star quarterback Jayden Daniels transferred to LSU.
TCU plays Colorado at 7 pm. The game is not talked about in the conference. Sonny Dykes takes over at TCU after a 5-7 season.
UCLA is going to play Bowling Green. The game starts at 11:30 AM. UCLA has a lot of returning starters and a soft schedule. Bowling green has some starters back and upset Minnesota last year.
No. 11 Oregon takes on No. 3 Georgia in Atlanta. The Bulldogs are the defending national champions. Georgia has just 10 starters, but the team is very well-recruited.
Arizona plays San Diego State in the season opener. Arizona lost 38-14 in Tucson last season. SanDiego State is coming off of a 12-2 season and is a contender to win the Mountain West.
UC Davis plays California at 1 pm on Pac-12 Network. California has lost its starting quarterback and returns just eight starters.
Rice plays at No. 14 USC at 3 PM on Pac-12 Networks. The game is on a neutral field. USC has been the talk of the conference during the off-season.
No. 7 Utah plays Florida in a game that is important for the conference. Kyle Whittingham's coaching advantage will be a big difference in the game.
Stanford is playing Colgate at 5 pm on Pac-12 Network. Last season, Stanford finished with seven-year lows in points per game on offense and defense. This weekend's game is a warm up before a showdown with USC next week.
Idaho plays Washington State at 6:30 PM. Jake Dickert took over for Nick Rolovich. WSU finished 7-6 last season and beat the Huskies for the first time since 2012. This season Dicker has just 10 returning starters.
Boise State plays Oregon State at Reser Stadium at 7:30 PM. OSU is favored by 3 points. The Beavers finished 7-6 last season.
