Portugal - 4/11
Draw - 7/2
Sweden - 13/2

Portugal's Euro 2024 preparations get properly underway this week, starting a with a home friendly against Sweden.

Roberto Martinez's side were the only team in qualification for the Euros to win every single one of their matches, booking their spot in Germany with three matches to spare in the process.

Portugal currently stand as joint-fourth favourites to win would be the country's second European title following their win in France in 2016, and have won all 10 of their matches since the 2022 World Cup ahead of their match with Sweden on Thursday night, conceding just twice.

Thursday's match will be the first of five pre-tournament friendlies they've booked in so far, with Martinez and co travelling to Ljubljana to take on Slovenia next Tuesday, before a triple header of home friendlies against Finland, Croatia and Ireland at the start of June.

Portugal start their Euro 2024 in Leipzig on 18th June with a Group F match against the Czech Republic, before taking on Turkey in Dortmund, with their group stage campaign climaxing with a match against one of the three-play off winners to be decided next week in Gelsenkirchen.

Sweden failed to qualify for the Euros this summer for the first time since Euro 96, with Scandinavian side finishing third in their qualifying group behind Belgium and Austria.

Back to back defeats against the Austrians all but confirmed the Swedes' failure to qualify for the Euros for the first time this century but a demoralising 3-0 defeat to Azerbaijan which followed signalled the end of Janne Andersson's management of the side after seven years in charge.

Jon Dahl Tomasson has since been appointed as Sweden's new manager and Thursday's match in Portugal will be his first game in charge of the national side.

Tomasson has four friendlies to prepare himself for Sweden's next competitive fixture, which will come in the Nations League in September, where the Blagult will play in League C following their relegation in the last campaign.

Following Thursday's match in Portugal, Sweden return home for a friendly against Albania in Solna next week, before June will see Tomasson return to Copenhagen to manage against his home nation before a final home friendly against Serbia.

Portugal have won four of their last five matches against Sweden, and have lost on only one occasion to the Swedes since 1984, 12 meetings ago.

BetVictor have boosted a handful of their odds ahead of Thursday night's friendly in Guimaraes, which includes those for Portugal to win and both teams to score, which are now available at 5/2.

However, with Portugal averaging almost four goals per game in their last 10 matches and conceding just twice, the prospect for a 4-0 win doesn't seem unlikely for Martinez's side, the odds of which have also been boosted with the same bookie to 16/1.
