Predicting all the winners for the 2022 Home Depot College Football Awards Show
The Home Depot College Football Awards Show will air on ESPN on Thursday night (Dec. 7) at 7 p.m. ET. There will be 9 major awards handed out to the best of the worst in college football.
Will Anderson Jr. (Alabama) and Tuli Tuipulotu (USC) are the nominees for the Chuck Bednarik Award. Anderson had a down year but still had 17 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 12 hurries and a pick-6. Tuipsulutu has a better statistical case.
The Biletnikoff Award is for the Outstanding Receiver. Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State) is nominated. Jalin Hyatt (Tennessee) and Xavier Hutchinson (Iowa State), are the other nominees. Harrison is predicted to win the award.
Joshua Karty is the favorite to win the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award. He was Stanford's MVP this year. Jake Moody made the most kicks, but Kartry was a perfect 18-for-18.
Bryce Baringer is predicted to win the Ray Guy Award for Outstanding Punter for the 2022 Home Depot College Football Awards Show. Mason Fletcher and Adam Korsak are the other nominees.
Caleb Williams is the favorite to win the Maxwell Award for the 2022 Home Depot College Football Awards Show. 7 of the last 8 Maxwell winners also won the Heisman Trophy. He had 47 touchdowns with 4,447 scrimmage yards.
Caleb Williams is the favorite to win the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award. Lamar Jackson won the award in 2016. The winner will be announced at the 2022 Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
The Outland Trophy is the most outstanding interior lineman award. Olusegun Oluwatimi is predicted to win it. Peter Skoronski is not. Calijah Kancey and Peter Kornoski are the other nominees. Donovan Edwards has been a revelation at center for Michigan.
Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, Clark Phillips III and Devon Witherspoon are nominated for Jim Thorpe Award for the best defensive back. Phillips is tied with Emmanuel Forbes for Power 5 lead with 6 interceptions. He trails Hodgedges and Wirthspoons in passes defended.
The 2022 Home Depot College Football Awards Show will take place in Austin. Bijan Robinson is predicted to win the Doak Walker Award for the best running back. Blake Corum is a contender if he doesn't get hurt. Chase Brown got 70 more carries and Robinson got the receiving yards advantage.
